About VES

Vallarta Enfrenta el Sida A.C. Works with the local HIV/AIDS clinic, known as CAPASITS. We pay initial medical expenses for patients who are not yet affiliated with the Mexican Public Health System. We pay for medicines that are not in the public health formulary, but are required for treatment of specific ailments that patients are struggling with. We provide CAPASITS employees with office and other equipment when the government does not provide needed items. And we assist patients with transportation for clinic visits, and other expenses when it is clear they are without resources and in need.

We also work in the community to stop the spread of HIV, through education programs and prevention activities such as free condom distribution to vulnerable groups and individuals. We administer rapid HIV tests in our offices too.

We provide psychological assistance to people who’s been infected and affected by HIV, their family and friends as well. We have Health Fairs in different communities in the Puerto Vallarta region where we distribute information; we provide informative talks, condoms and lubes. We also visit work areas in hotels, factories, offices where we provide our services like talks about HIV/AIDS, STDs, prevention methods and we give them free condoms and lube as well.

We visit nightclubs at nights, especially during weekend nights, delivering condoms and lubes among the club visitors, and if they want to get tested right there it is possible thanks to our Prevention Vehicle “Vanessa”, she is equipped to offer testing services.
